Over the last couple of months of the summer, I have had the pleasure of taking a Special Topics Entrepreneurship course. Throughout the course, I was encouraged to think deeply about business models. I questioned why certain businesses failed and attempted to learn what steps other businesses can take to ensure that failure is not an option. I was able to understand the importance of the consumer and consumer research to companies. I learned how to form my own business model, which was an innovation my team and I coined as "Scan N Shop."
Scan N Shop is an app that allows a consumer to develop a 3D model of themselves using photogrammetry technology. They download our app and take pictures of themselves from many different angles. Our software, codes, and algorithms will transform these images into a three-dimensional model on the app. Next, retailers will enter pictures and measurements of clothing into our app. Our software will develop 3D representations of this clothing. Therefore, the consumer will able to virtually try on clothes to see how it will fit them before they purchase it. They will be able to see the areas of the article of clothing that are too tight or too loose due to the fact that these areas will be indicated by different colors. The consumer will be able to shop more efficiently and effectively and won't have to partake in the painstaking process of returning clothing. We hope to continue developing our app and end the issue and expense of buying clothes online that do not fit! Our final paper and presentation are attached at the left for viewing.
